Masters & Ribakoff

Mediation – Arbitration

christine-and-alan_200x250Christine Masters and Alan Ribakoff established Masters & Ribakoff in 1991 by merging their highly successful employment and corporate law practices. By 2004, they were recognized leaders in providing high quality ADR service as neutral mediators and arbitrators.  With a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in employment, corporate and business law that is difficult to match, they have successfully resolved thousands of disputes involving public employers, private business enterprises from small family owned to large Fortune 500 companies, and non-profit and governmental entities, including local municipalities and state agencies.

Mr. Ribakoff now concentrates his practice as an arbitrator on the Employment and Commercial Panels of the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”).  Ms. Masters devotes her time exclusively to the mediated resolution of all types of employment disputes.  Mr. Ribakoff and Ms. Masters choose to work primarily in Southern California, but will consider assignments elsewhere on a case by case basis.

Mediations During the Pandemic

After careful consideration, Masters & Ribakoff has determined that in person arbitration and mediation services must be postponed until we feel it can be safe and worryfree for all participants. Our reasoning is relatively simple. Science has shown that people are infectious before they have symptoms, so absence of symptoms or fever does not eliminate concern. Vulnerability of each participant depends on age, immune system, and pre-existing conditions, and while social distancing works well  outside and in large spaces, large numbers of people the quality of ventilation, and the length of exposure are other critical factors. There are too many variables to safely control. We continue to monitor all health and safety data and developments and look forward to resuming in person services. In the meantime, we are happy to provide our services virtually, working with you to successfully resolve conflicts.
